“Hinterland” Cover Reveal

The official cover reveal for my debut horror novel Hinterland

I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time. My debut horror novel, Hinterland, is coming this December but for now I’m thrilled to share the official cover art…

“The old gods are watching…” Hinterland, Logan Spurgeon

Seeing the artwork is a dream come true. I can’t wait for everyone to get their hands on it. You’ll be able to preorder Hinterland on Monday, February 10, 2025 through Quill & Crow Publishing House.

Thank you to Fay Lane for designing the gorgeous cover and bringing the vision to life. Special thanks to Cassandra L. Thompson and everyone at Quill & Crow Publishing House for all their contributions to the book.

Read an excerpt from Hinterland below:

Kestrel said the name to himself, a growing call sheet of strangers who shouldn’t be allowed to continue their rituals. The atrocities warned him to get up, run as fast as he could, and find a way home. But there was no home to run to. Not that Kestrel didn’t have one, he supposed he did, but he couldn’t remember where it was. He wasn’t even sure of his current location. A forest, to be sure, but where? When? The trees were tall above the ribbons and bones, dense and turning shades of brown, red, orange, and yellow in the dying autumn.
Death surrounded him. At least he knew that.
“This is the sacrifice,” Lynx said before she moved out of the way and gestured toward the bonfire.
The others began to chant and howl strange noises.
The smell, the sight, the idea of it made Kestrel want to jump into the fire himself, burn away to cinder, lift up as ash upon the wind, and drift high above and far away from this place and its barbaric people. At least he wouldn’t have to endure whatever was about to happen.

“These Flowers Must Bloom" Published

Thin Veil Press publishes my short story, These Flowers Must Bloom.

Thin Veil Press has published my short story, These Flowers Must Bloom, under their Dark Reads collection. I couldn’t be more thrilled to work with Thin Veil Press on seeing it come to light.

Flowers was written one year ago (December 2022) while visiting my family in Texas. I had long imagined a dark tale that centered on a haunted greenhouse. My love for plants and my passion for horror collided. In that chaos, this little story was born.

I chose the White Frog Orchid (Dendrophylax Lindenii) because of its rarity, stunning beauty, and its alternative name—the Ghost Orchid.

You can read These Flowers Must Bloom on Thin Veil Press here.
