The Silkworm in Crow Lore: An Anthology

I’m thrilled to announce my short story The Silkworm will be featured in Crow Lore: An Anthology. It will release on November 20, 2026. It is now available for preorder at Quill & Crow.

About The Silkworm:

The Silkworm is a dark tale of loss, grief, and isolation. Interestingly, the story was originally conceptualized for the final project of Morality at the End of Modernity—a grad school class on examining social mores conveyed through storytelling over the centuries.

I was contemplating how isolation from community can hollow you out—especially when grief overcomes you—on a a fifteen hour drive home from a family member’s funeral.

A bolt of inspiration struck me. I envisioned grief as a silkworm consuming someone’s flesh and replacing the pieces with web. I started dictating the story as I drove and when I arrived home I had the bones of The Silkworm.

I hope you enjoy this dark tale.
